Bill Happersett produced these sketches in recognition of Harry Ettinger's service to his country and his assistance in building the VC-35 and VA(AW)-35 Association. Also in memory of his OIC, John McGinnis, and team mates, William Luke and Dave Frerking on VAN Team 54.

AD-4NL NR 04 124743 was last flown on 13 DEC 51 by LTJG Harry Ettinger on VAN Team 10 from the USS Valley Forge CV 45. The plane was hit by AAA near Magyo-ri and last seen heading N with engine smoking. 2 Parachutes were observed.

Harry and crew, Julian Gilliland AT2 and Jess Mc Elroy AOU3, were captured by the Koreans on 13 DEC 51 and released during the summer of 53 as the result of Operation Big Switch.

AD-5N VV 835 135022 was last flown on 23 JAN 58 by LCDR John F. Mc Ginnis on VAN Team 54 from the USS Hornet CVA 12. The flight was part of the Operational Readiness Inspection (ORI) prior to the Hornet and its air group's deployment to WESTPAC.

John and crew, William Luke AO1/CA and David Frerking AN/CA, were executing a Special Weapons loft maneuver over Kahoolawe Island, HI during ORI. All three onboard lost their lives when the aircraft crashed on the Island.
